The Best Wedding Venues in Devon

Devon is one of the best counties in England to get married in… The variety is extraordinary! Whether you want rustic charm, a coastal wedding or a grand country house elegance, it is all here.

We have had the privilege of playing at some incredible Devon venues over the years. Here are eleven of our favourites and what makes each one special.

Humber Barn, Bishopsteignton

Originally a lambing shed on a working farm, Humber Barn has been beautifully restored into one of Devon’s most loved wedding venues. The glass front looks out across Dartmoor and the Teign Estuary… with the horse trailer converted into a cocktail bar is always a crowd favourite. The outdoor patio and lawn make it perfect for summer evenings, and the wagon wheel light at the centre of the barn is the most photographed feature in the room. Up to 250 guests for an evening reception.

Rockbeare Manor, Exeter

A Grade I listed Regency manor house set in 100 acres just east of Exeter. Rockbeare is grand without being intimidating. Exclusive use of 13 bedrooms on site and a choice of indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces. The gardens are exceptional for photos and the whole setting has an understated elegance that works beautifully for couples who want something classic and refined.

Huntsham Court, Huntsham

One of the most unique wedding venues in the South West. Huntsham Court is a Grade II listed Victorian country house near the Somerset border with 42 bedrooms, meaning almost your entire guest list can sleep under one roof. It feels less like a venue and more like a private house party. The rooms are filled with art and character. No two spaces are the same. The Great Hall is where most couples end up dancing. It has a music licence to keep the party going late into the night and a reputation as one of the best party venues in the UK.

Tunnels Beaches, Ilfracombe

Tunnels Beaches is genuinely unlike anywhere else. A private beach on the North Devon coast, accessed through hand-carved tunnels cut through the cliff in the 1820s. The ceremony can take place right on the beach, with the Atlantic as your backdrop. The contemporary glass-fronted building sits above the cove for the reception. It holds up to 160 guests and has six apartments on site for accommodation. If you want something personal and completely unforgettable, Tunnels Beaches delivers it.

Kingston Estate, Totnes

Kingston Estate is in a category of its own. A Grade II listed Georgian mansion built in 1735, set in 15 acres near Totnes. It has been named as one of the top 20 wedding venues in the UK by Vogue and the Evening Standard and it is not hard to see why. Multiple ceremony spaces including the Marble Hall, the Rose Garden, the Walled Garden and the rustic Linhay Barn. Six bars across the estate. And then, when the evening is in full swing, guests follow the lights downstairs to the Undercroft… a vaulted basement nightclub with a music licence until 3am and no sound limiters (Our DJs love it🔥)

The Grain Store, Kingsbridge

Set on a working farm in the South Hams near Stokenham, The Grain Store is a beautifully restored barn with high ceilings, exposed stonework and a blank canvas feel that lets couples make it entirely their own. Up to 200 guests. There is also a licensed beach field at nearby Beesands where ceremonies can take place right at the water’s edge. A five-bedroom farmhouse on site provides accommodation for the wedding party. Versatile, striking and in one of the most beautiful corners of Devon.

Bickley Mill, Stoneycombe

For couples who want something intimate, Bickley Mill is one of the most charming small wedding venues in South Devon. A converted watermill in a quiet valley near Newton Abbot, it holds smaller guest numbers and has a genuinely personal feel to it. The food is excellent, the setting is peaceful and the whole venue has a warmth that larger venues can struggle to replicate. Perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel like a proper celebration rather than an event.

Salcombe is one of the most beautiful small towns in Devon. The Harbour Hotel sits right on the estuary with floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terraces that look directly out over the water. For couples who want a hotel wedding with a genuinely spectacular backdrop, Salcombe Harbour is hard to beat.

A family-run hotel sitting right on the waterfront of Torbay, Livermead Cliff is one of the few venues in the area with direct water’s edge access. The Riviera Suite holds up to 150 for a sit-down reception and up to 200 for an evening event, with a private bar, dance floor and sun terrace. The sea views from the room are genuinely stunning.
