February 13, 2017 posted by futuremedia

Our Devon DJ’s always know just how to get the party started. So whether it’s a birthday party, corporate event or wedding, the right music and entertainment is key. These days, few people get the chance to have fun with karaoke, so when they do you’re guaranteed your guests will have a great time. With unlimited choice of music, from a variety of genres, it requires little space to set up and can suit a budget of your choice, so it really is the perfect option. Here’s some of our favourite karaoke classics to get you in the mood:

1) I Want it That Way – Backstreet Boys
The perfect pop song that everyone knows, from the all-favourite American boy band Backstreet Boys. Released by in 1999, it’s one of their signature songs and got to number one in 25 countries!

2) Alanis Morriesette – Ironic
Anddddd isn’t it Ironic… Don’t you think? It’s like raaaaaaainnnnnnnnnnnnn! Oops got a bit carried away there, but still an absolute classic karaoke track! Heartbreaking, yet filled with fist-pumping emotion, we love this.

3) Angels – Robbie Williams
Another 90’s pop favourite by former member of the beloved Take That, this one is Williams biggest selling single.

4) Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen
This is for sure the top ‘feel-good’ song and guaranteed to get everyone on the dance floor. A cognitive neuroscientist actually studied and carried out research into pop songs for the last 50 years. As a result, he created an equation for the perfect pop song, revealing that a major third key, a high-tempo and holiday lyrics are key. Don’t Stop Me Now fits all the criteria, as he said positive lyrics were important but a high tempo of 150 beats per minute also subconsciously makes people feel energized… so come on what are you waiting for?

5) ABC– Jackson 5
A track from America’s favourite musical family group. The Jackson 5’s mix of mind-blowing musical talent and sheer charisma earned the family the status of pop royalty in the music business and later helped launch Michael’s legendary solo career.

6) Reach – S Club 7
One for all the millennials out there, an ultimate disco, party and karaoke classic. The kings and queens of ’90s and ’00s pop cheese, S Club 7, even made a triumphant return with their sold-out Bring It All Back 2015 tour 2 years ago.

7) No Scrubs – TLC
This one even picked up a Grammy for best R&B song in 1999. Got to love it really haven’t you!

8) Teenage Dream – Katy Perry
Whether you’re channelling the first time she first met Russell Brand, when she threw a glass in a bar, her gospel teenage years or the leopard print outfit in the Roar video, a karaoke just wouldn’t be the same without this pop princess.

9) Say my Name – Destiny’s Child
The perfect sing along… Destiny’s Child was launched following the 1999 release of their best-selling second album, The Writing’s on the Wall, which contained the number-one singles “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Say My Name”.

10) Baby One More Time – Britney Spears
There’s no denying you don’t know it…. “Oh, baby, baby Oh, baby, baby Oh, baby, baby how was I supposed to know?” The debut single by American singer, released in 1998 and selling over 30 million copies.
